the Edo Period on Chinese and Dutch merchant vessels. They exhibited revolutionary and
powerful expressions beholding the life of a commoner as a form of beauty.
This epoch making art-style that proved to be the flowering of
popular art and opened a gateway for the development of ukiyoe.
